DIGICEL SUPPORTS HEART & STROKE FOUNDATION DINNER

Friday, October 14, 2011 - (Bridgetown, Barbados): Digicel Barbados recently supported the funding dinner of the Barbados Heart & Stroke Foundation.

The dinner which was held to raise funds to purchase six additional telemetry monitors and to upgrade its gym equipment for the Heart & Stroke Foundation’s Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation department.

The Heart & Stroke Foundation which is committed to being involved in many healthy lifestyle initiatives has two major long-term programmes, the Cardiac Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation Programme (CDP&R) and the Emergency Cardiac Care Programme. The programmes are designed to rehabilitate and educate persons who had heart surgery, heart attack, heart failure or stroke through regular prescribed and monitored exercise, dietary and psychological counseling.

Digicel’s support to the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s event is an extension of the company’s community outreach initiatives and efforts to support preventative and care initiatives to the public.
