Digicel launches its christmas promotion

December 1st 2007 - Digicel launches its christmas promotion

SOME LUCKY Digicel customer will drive away a brand new, fully loaded, state-of-the-art, 2008 Mitsubishi L200 Sportero this Christmas. And hundreds more have the chance to win hundreds of attractive prizes including cell phones, free airtime, MP4 players, boom boxes, radio backpacks and weekly cash prizes of $1 000.

General manager Roy Gillingham termed the Christmas Move With Digicel promotion Digicel's way of giving back to their customers at this important time of the year, in essence rewarding and showing them our appreciation. The promotion is open to all existing Digicel postpaid and prepaid customers, as well as any person who buys a new phone and thereby joins our network during the period, he said. The fantastic thing about this year is that with every purchase of a handset, whether prepaid or postpaid, customers automatically get free airtime. Prepaid customers get $60, with $40 on purchase and $10 for each of the two subsequent months. Those purchasing postpaid phones get $160 in free airtime, with $60 off the first bill, $30 each for the second and third months and $40 off the fourth. All existing prepaid customers have to do is top up with our new $30 or $50 Flexcards, or buy $30 or more in Flex-E vouchers for a chance to win. Our postpaid customers are automatically entered when they pay their phone bill on or before the due date, he added.

As in previous years, Digicel will be offering fantastic and stylish phones at very affordable prices starting from as low as $99. A wide range of phones will be available from popular names such as Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia and Samsung so customers have many choices this Christmas.

The Sportero, one of the newest in the line of Mitsubishi vehicles, features an ergonomically designed cockpit to anticipate the driver's movements, an improved intercooler system, anti-lock braking, emergency locking retractor seatbelts and a collapsible steering wheel, among other things.

The promotion ends on February 10, 2008, giving customers lots of time in which to enter the competition as many times as they wish.

But Digicel is not only about great phones at great prices, the telecommunications company is good corporate citizen and always giving back to the community, especially during the season.  This year, Digicel is once again spreading Christmas Cheer to several children from the Children's Homes when it partners with Sheraton Center to host a shopping day and entertainment for special children.

Digicel has also partnered with the Caribbean Broadcast Media Partnership on HIV/AIDS (CBMP) enabling Digicel customers across the Caribbean to quickly and easily receive information on their mobile phones about local HIV/AIDS clinics, testing centers. Customers can text LIVEUP to INFO (4636) on their Digicel phone to access the information which was launched on World AIDS Day on December 1st.

Digicel extends Best Wishes for a Blessed Christmas and a Wonderful New Year.
