Thursday, May 5, 2011 – (Bridgetown, Barbados): Digicel, recently announced its sponsorship of the 11th Annual Mother’s Day - “Mum This One’s For You” Show.
The Mother’s Day Show will once again feature 100% Bajan cast of top class artists including Carolyn Leacock, Terry “Mexican” Arthur, John King, Mike Grosvenor, Israel Lovell Foundation and “Spouge Master” Desmond Weekes.
Show Producer, Desmond Weekes, explained that the event has grown over the years, and will now be held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Center to an anticipated sold out audience.
He added that this year’s show will again honor outstanding mothers in the communities who have been nominated by neighbours and relatives, and is once more working with the National Assistance Board who will select this year’s honorees.
Weekes expressed his gratitude to Digicel for the company’s continued support, and is grateful for their contribution. He added, “This show could not be staged without the kind support of Digicel, who have readily come on board with us again. Digicel’s support will help us pay for the venue and provide door prizes to patrons. We are looking forward to a fantastic show and will be mixing veteran artists including Lord Radio with new artists like Jamal Slocombe”.
Digicel’s Head of Sales & Marketing, Alex Tasker stated the company is once again delighted to support the show. He added, “Digicel is pleased to support a show of this high caliber, which not only showcases some of Barbados’ best artists, but also honors some of the most deserving mothers from communities all across Barbados”.
