Digicel Regional Roaming

1.       What is Digi-Roaming?

This is the ability to use your Digicel mobile (prepaid & post-paid) on a Digicel network in another country/territory.

 

2.       What territories can customers currently Digi-Roam in?

Customers can Digi-Roam in 22 Digicel territories currently. (See Appendix for list).

 

3.       What does a Customer need to Digi-roam?

At least a compatible Tri-band handset, (900/1800/1900 MHz)

N.B. If prepaid, sufficient credit needs to be on account . If post-paid , a pre-determined deposit must be made and customers must call Customer care to request service.

 

4.       Who can use this Digi-Roaming service?

ALL Digicel customers can use the Digi-Roam service, that is, both prepaid and post-paid customers.

 

5.       What are these new Digi-Roam rates?

Post-paid customers when Digi-roaming will now pay US$ 0.25¢ per minute to:

a)      Make calls back to Barbados (Digicel & other providers.)

b)      Make local calls on visiting territory (on-net and off-net)

c)       Receive calls while roaming

Prepaid customers when Digi-roaming will now pay US$ 0.40¢ per minute to:

d)      Make calls back to Barbados (Digicel & other providers.)

e)      Make local calls on visiting territory (on-net and off-net)

f)       Receive calls while roaming

 

6.       Do Customers need to register for this Digi-Roam service?

For Post-Paid customers a pre-determined deposit must be made and customers must call Customer care to request service. 

7.       If a customer is Digi-roaming and calls a 3rd country (not Barbados or roaming country) what is the charge?

The charge remains at the usual rate.

Example: If a post-paid Digicel Barbados customer is roaming in Cayman and makes a call to the USA they will pay BDS$6.99 as opposed to the Digi-roaming rate of BDS $1.00 per minute.

 

8.       If a customer is Digi-roaming and sends an SMS what is the charge?

The charge remains at the usual rate of US$ 0.15¢

Note: Each SMS can be up to 160 characters long.

9.       If a customer is Digi-roaming and browses via GPRS what is the charge?

The charge remains at the usual rate of US$ 8 per Megabyte of data transferred.

10.   If I am Digi-Roaming and receive an SMS what is the charge?

NONE! There is no charge to receive an SMS.

11.   Can corporate customers Digi-Roam?

YES! All Digicel customers including corporate customers can Digi-Roam.

 

12.    As a Post-paid customer can I Digi-Roam if my account is credit limit barred?

No. Available credit is necessary to Digi-Roam.

 

13.   As a Post-paid customer can I Digi-Roam if I have not paid my bill in one or two bill cycles?

No.

 

14.   As a prepaid customer can I Digi-Roam if my account has no airtime or credit?

No. Credit and airtime are necessary to Digi-Roam.

 

15.   What are some handy tips for Digi-roaming customers?

Voicemail - To access Voice Mail while roaming dial +1-246-260-0000 ( Digi-Roam rates will apply)  

Cancel all call diverts with ##002# if voicemail will not be used.

 

Customer Care - To access Customer Care while roaming dial 100 from your mobile phone or +1-246-434-DIGI (3444) ( Digi-Roam rates will apply)
