US Prepaid Roaming

WHAT IS PREPAID ROAMING

US Prepaid roaming is a premium service offered by Digicel which allows its prepaid customers to make and receive calls, send and receive SMS while in the United States roaming on Cingular’s network.

What will I need to be able to access this service?

• An active Digicel prepaid account
  
• A 900, 1800 or 1900MHz compatible handset
  
• Sufficient credit on your prepaid account

How do I activate the service?

All Digicel prepaid accounts are pre-activated for roaming in the USA. There will be no need to manually activate the service or to call customer care for activation.

Do I need a roaming deposit to access the service?

No, prepaid roaming access does not require a roaming deposit.

How will I pay for this service?

Charges will be deducted from the customer’s prepaid a/c for calls made and received while roaming.

Will I be able to top-up my account if my balance runs out while roaming?

Yes. Customers are able to add credit to their account while roaming using the USSD string *121*voucher number #, send.

How will I be able to check my balance while roaming?

While roaming customers are able to check their balance via USSD (Flex Check): *120# send, which then provides the customer with a balance update on the screen of their phone.

Will I still be able to make and receive calls if I do not have sufficient credit?

If your balance is below the required amount to make a call and you attempt to do so, you will hear a specific tone indicating low balance and your call will not be connected. Similarly, if someone attempts to call you and you do not have sufficient credit to make a call, the person calling you will receive an ID Announcement and there will be no connection made to you.

Will I be able to access GPRS while I roam?

Yes. GPRS roaming is available to all Prepaid Digicel subscribers.

Will I be able to contact Customer Care while roaming?

Yes. If you need to contact customer care while roaming abroad, you are able to do so via:

• Phone – 1-246-434-3444 (billed as outgoing call to home country)

Can customers take the cards from Barbados and top up in the United States?

Yes. Using the USSD string *121*voucher number#, send.
