Dedicated Internet Access from Digicel combines the benefits of traditional Leased Line internet access, such as high availability, guaranteed bandwidth and 24-hour pro-active monitoring with the flexibility of Ethernet presentation and variable Bandwidth options.

Digicel proposes to connect customers to its regional backbone network and deliver a dedicated internet connection at a speed of customer’s choosing. This connection is then carried off island across Global Caribbean Network’s Fibre to Digicel’s facility at the NAP of the Americas in Miami, FL where it is connected to the internet. This is not a contended or shared service: the bandwidth specified is reserved on Digicel’s network at all times for the sole use of customer.

Additional value-add features beyond the provision of a dedicated internet pipe include:

-          No physical local loop is required, making it impossible for the line to be severed (unlike similar services provided over copper or fibre)

-          Bandwidth can be ‘dialed up’ quickly as business requirements dictate

-          24x7 pro-active monitoring of the DIA Service by Digicel’s Network Operations Centre

-          Robust Service Level Agreement for Response & Repair times including financial penalties to Digicel.
